- 1 cup water
- ½ cup sugar
- 1 cinnamon stick
- 2 star anise

- Zest of 1 orange
Instructions
- Peel the pears, leaving the stems intact for a refined presentation.
- In a saucepan, combine the wine, water, sugar, cinnamon, star anise, vanilla, and orange zest. Bring to a gentle simmer.
